Unit 4 Friends forever
Ben: Hi Jane. You look busy? Can I interrupt you for a moment?
Jane: Sure, Ben. What's up?
Ben: Well, my friend Gina is coming to visit me next month. She is from Italy and wants
me to show her around. The problem is, I don't know where to take her. Do you
have any ideas?
Jane: What does your friend like to do?
Ben: Actually, when I think about it, you two share many interests – she also likes films,
dancing, shopping for clothes, eating out…
Jane: Why not take her to the new shopping centre in the city? It has a cinema and many
cool shops.
Ben: That's not a bad idea. It also has a great Italian restaurant that she might like.
Jane: It might also be a good idea to let her try some of our local food. How about
taking her to the night market so she can enjoy some tasty home cooking?
Ben: You're right. I didn't think of that. But what else can I do with her? She's staying
here for a week.
Jane: Have you thought about going on a boat trip on the river? They're very popular
these days.
Ben: Maybe. But I always get sick on boats.
Jane: Well, perhaps you could take her on a tour of the city instead? Show her the
museum, the old palace and the parks.
Ben: Hmm, maybe, but Gina is more interested in modern architecture.
Jane: Then you should take her to the Sky Tower. It has great views from the top – and it
has a nice platform where she can take fantastic photos of the city.
Ben: That sounds amazing! By the way, why don't you come along and hang out with
Gina as well? I'm sure you two would become good friends!
