Unit 5 On the road
TI officer: Good morning, welcome to the Tourist Information Office. How may I help
you?
Tourist: Hello there. I've bought this painting that I would like to send to my parents
back home. What's the best way to do this?
TI officer: You need to go to the post office and speak to someone there. Here's a map to
help you find your way.. When you leave the tourist office, turn right on Sun
Street.
Tourist: Sun Street… Yes?
TI officer: Then turn left and cross the river. The post office will be on your left.
Tourist: Excellent. Thank you for that. Is it open today?
TI officer: Yes. It's open from Monday to Saturday. It opens at 8:30 in the morning. Is
there anything else I can help you with?
Tourist: Yes. Could you please tell me how to get to the theatre from the post office? I
want to try to get tickets for tonight's performance of Julius Caesar.
TI officer: Of course. The theatre is on the corner of Palace Street and Oak Avenue. Walk
all the way along Water Street, then turn right and walk along Oak Avenue.
It'll be on your right. The theatre's open between 11 am and 8 pm for ticket
sales.
Tourist: Wonderful, thanks! Could you help me with something else, please? After
that, I'd like to visit the castle, but I can't find it on any map. How do I get
there?
TI officer: The castle is on Water Street, between the library and the school. From the
theatre, walk along Palace Street, and turn right on Sun Street. Then turn
right onto Water Street and it's on your right after the Library. Do you have a
museum pass?
Tourist: No, I don't.
TI officer: Then the castle will cost you £8 to visit. It's open every day and the price
includes a snack at the café.
Tourist: That's good news. Thanks for all your help!
