POSSESSIVE ADJECTIVES
my, your, his, her, our, their
Use these words to show that something belongs to someone.
Example:
Jengo has a son. His son is a student.
His means the son belongs to Jengo. Jane has a car. Her car is blue.
Her means the car belongs to Jane.

POSSESSIVE NOUNS
Add an apostrophe (') and s to a noun
to show something belongs to the noun.
Jengo . . . Jengo's
Jengo has a son.
Jengo's son is a student.
Jengo's means the son belongs to Jengo.
The teacher's car is blue.
(The car belongs to the teacher.)
The child's book is on the desk.
(The book belongs to the child.)

Jengo: Here it is.
Mrs. Park: Ah.
Ms. Kennedy: Hello, welcome. I'm Ms. Kennedy, the school principal.
Jengo: Hello, my name is Jengo. Nice to meet you.
Ms. Kennedy: Nice to meet you, too.
Jengo: This is Mrs. Park.
Mrs. Park: Nice to meet you.
Ms. Kennedy: Nice to meet you, too. This is Mr. Jenkins, the school librarian.
Jengo: Nice to meet you.
Mrs. Park: Nice to meet you.
Ms. Kennedy: This is Mrs. Jackson, a teacher.
Mrs. Jackson: Nice to meet you.
Mrs. Park: Nice to meet you.
Jengo: Nice to meet you all.
Ms. Kennedy: So, who are your children?
Jengo: I have a son. His name is Syaka Vangura.
Mrs. Jackson: Oh, Syaka. I'm his teacher. He's a good student.
Jengo: Thank you.
Ms. Kennedy: And Mrs. Park, you're here for?
Mrs. Park: My granddaughter. Her name is Lily Park.
Mr. Jenkins: Oh, Lily Park, yes. I know her. She comes to the library every day and she loves to read books.
Mrs. Park: Yes, books, all day.
Ms. Kennedy: Well, Mr. Vangura, Mrs. Park, please go to the cafeteria, meet the teachers, have some
refreshments. Mrs. Jackson will be in in a moment.
Jengo: Excuse me, where is the cafeteria?
Ms. Kennedy: It's between the office and the library.
Jengo: Okay, thank you.
