 1 Blind Man Sues Cab Company — Basic Story

A blind man is suing a cab company. He feels that he was not treated fairly. A cab driver that claims to be
allergic to dogs would not let the blind man and his dog into her cab.
The blind man has been using the cab company for years and has never had any problems before this. He is
very angry. He feels that he is being discriminated against.
Discrimination is when someone is not treated the same as others because he or she is different in some way.
Discriminating against people with disabilities is against the law. If courts find that the cab company was
discriminating against this man they will be in a lot of trouble.
Someone from the cab company said that the driver has a note from her doctor stating that she is allergic to
dogs. Dogs can make her feel sick. The cab company does not think that she should have had to let the man and
his dog into her cab.
A judge will have to decide who will win this case. Both the blind man and the cab driver have rights. Both
sides will need to be looked at and only one will win.
