 1 Gun Locks — Basic Story

A man from a church wants to help save lives. He learned that many young people were using guns. He was
worried.
Some kids hurt people with guns. Other kids injure themselves with guns. Guns can be very dangerous.
This man got an idea. He thought gun locks could help keep people safe. He wanted to give people gun locks.
A store agreed to sell the locks to him at a good price. He bought the gun locks. He will give them to people in
his church.
Another man was offering a class. This class will help parents and children. The class teaches people how to use
and care for a firearm.

A Lodi pastor says he wants to save lives and souls. Dr. Norm Mowery with Lodi's First United Methodist
Church says he got the idea after watching news coverage of teen shootings. He is providing free gun locks for
members of his congregation.
Dr. Mowery says he's most concerned with young people who use a gun either against themselves or others.
The pastor made a deal with Lodi's Big 5 store to purchase the locks for just 80-cents apiece.
A church member is also offering a class to help parents and children learn the proper way to use and care for a
firearm.
